Permanent Care

Permanent Care at Ashleigh House

If respite care has been something that a resident has accessed, and they feel they need to transition into permanent care, there are a few things to think about planning for.

  • When will the respite days finish?
  • Does the individual need another aged care assessment to receive permanent care?

Sometimes circumstances change, and another assessment is required. An ACAS assessment, is a comprehensive assessment carried out by a member of the Aged Care Assessment Services team. This assessment is required before a person can be approved for government subsidised aged care assistance, including:

  • A nursing home
  • Home care
  • Residential aged care (including respite)
  • Transition care

To provide an extra level of service to our residents, we have a fantastic lifestyle team and receptionists who can help with appointments send flowers…whatever it takes to make life beautiful

  • Short-term restorative care

The assessment is used by Aged Care Assessment teams to determine what type and level of care is needed. The team will provide a referral code to the individual that Ashleigh House will use to enter the person into care.

  • Has the individual spoken with Service Australia and completed a financial assessment?

To enter into permanent care services, Services Australia will determine if the individual needs to be financially fully supported by the Government, pay a contribution (partially supported) fee or unsupported (will pay the full accommodation price).

If you would like an idea of how much you may need to pay, you can complete a fee estimator through the following link.

Below is an estimated financial guide for future residents of Ashleigh House. This is designed to give you an idea of what fees you may have.
