Respite Care

Respite Care at Ashleigh House

Respite care is a short-term stay in a residential aged care facility. An eligible individual can access up to 9 weeks (or 63 days). Respite care is designed to give carers a break for a limited period of time or begin the transition into permanent care.

To receive respite care (or any aged care service) a future resident needs to register with myagedcarehttps://www.myagedcare.gov.au/. This is so that an individual can access Australian Government-funded aged care services.

To receive respite care at Ashleigh House, a resident only needs to pay the Basic Daily Care Fee. This fee is set at 85% of the single person rate of the basic age pension. The government updates this fee on 20 March and 20 September each year in line with increases to the age pension. Prices are published on the this link.
